Direct Access to ADHD and Autism Referrals (Right to Choose)

BACK TO MAIN INDEX

A ‘Right to Choose’ mental health referral allows NHS patients in England to choose who they see for their mental healthcare, as long it’s clinically appropriate.

Different waiting times across different services are a common reason why someone might want to choose where they are seen, as it may let you be seen quicker than you would otherwise be – for example, if you were referred to the nearest service instead of one with a shorter waiting time.

Below, we have added a list of providers for ADHD and Autism referrals that we know can be helpful for our patients. If possible, please follow the instructions on the websites of the service you choose. You may not need to a see a GP beforehand, and we do encourage going directly to these providers via their websites wherever possible, as GPs do not assess and diagnose ADHD or autism:

Referrals will be returned if they do not have all the relevant forms
